Both contacts (5), closing under the compression pressure, of a test probe (1) are constructed as leaf springs (21); their closing is indicated by a signal lamp (6). They are opened by the counterforce of a mechanical tension device (8, 9, 10, 15, 16); the force needed for this is indicated by the lamp (6) being extinguished. The tension device consists, for example, of an expanding body (16) acting in a wedge-shaped cavity (24), which is connected via a tension wire (15) and a tension spring (8) to an adjusting spool (9), which can be axially displaced by hand, as end piece. Generating the counterforce by mechanical means provides for a compact construction of the instrument; its application becomes independent of existing auxiliary devices such as, for example, a sphygmometer. <IMAGE>
