<p>In the connector (1), use is made of a plug body (2) which is provided with a receptacle (3) for two ferrules (4) and on which protrude two diametrically arranged threaded connecting pieces (5). The latter each carry a cap nut (6) by means of which the end faces of the ferrules (4) are brought into mutual contact. An elastic coupling is ensured by arranging that an axially resilient ring (12) is inserted between the collar (11), consisting e.g. of a spring ring snapped into a groove (14), of each ferrule (4) and the cap nuts (6). The end faces of the coupling-side, conical ferrules (4) are covered by an elastic, radially symmetrically acting centring arrangement. The latter consists e.g. of a resiliently mounted triplet of balls or a ring (8) whose inside diameter is smaller than the end face diameter of the ferrules (4) containing the centrally fixed optical fibres. The centring elements are arranged loosely in a groove (7) running round inside the plug body (2). <IMAGE></p> |
