An anti-theft packaging has a container (1), formed on a large backing sheet (2), with counter catch members (8) which are arranged inside the container (1) and on which catch members (11) of a lid part (4), which can be fitted on enclosing an audio cassette (3) or the like, engage captively so that non-destructive removal of the lid part (4) is no longer possible. In order to facilitate the destructive removal of the lid part (4), intended tearing lines (20, 21) are provided in the lid part to produce separate sections (4', 4'') of the lid part (4), and the catch members (11) are held on the counter catch members (8) so as to be displaceable in the direction of the intended tearing lines (20, 21) so that, by means of such a displacement movement, the snap-on catch connection can be produced between the individual sections (4', 4'') of the lid part (4), and the catch members (11) are held on the counter catch members (8) so as to be displaceable in the direction of the intended tearing lines (20, 21) so that, by means of such a displacement movement, the snap-on catch connection between the individual sections (4', 4'') of the lid part (4) can be released on the counter catch members (8) and the latter can be disengaged and removed by displacement. By means of tearing handles (23) of suitable shaping, the tearing of the lid part (4) at the intended tearing lines (20, 21) with or without tools can be facilitated. The subsequent displacement can in any case simply take place by hand. Nevertheless, the security against theft is ensured since, even the tearing along the intended tearing lines (20, 21) is noisy due to tearing the hard plastic and the displacement back and forth of sections (4', 4'') of the lid part (4) cannot only be carried out with a simple, fast manipulation and, moreover, can be made slightly more difficult in terms of construction if required. <IMAGE>
