<p>Transparent plastic slabs carry a 5-80 micron layer of a lacquer contg. (a) polymers of lower alkyl esters of (meth)acrylic acid as binder, (b) 0.5-10 wt.% of a 2-(2-hydroxy-3,5-dialkylaryl) -2H-benzotriazole, as UV absorber, and (c) 0.5-10 wt.% of a quencher. The slabs are partic. of PVC, ABS terpolymer (I) or a styrene-butadiene copolymer (II). The thickness of the layer is esp. 10-60 microns (20-40 microns. The lacquer protects the slab against yellowing and/or against becoming brittle, for at least 5 yaars. The coating resists abrasion and solvents, and is resilient down to -20 deg.C. The slabs are used as walls or roofs for greenhouses, factories, sports pavillions, swimming pools, and exhibition halls, or for covering balconies and terraces.</p> |
