To reduce the energy losses, a propulsion arrangement for a ship is described which comprises one or more intake openings in the bow of the ship, one or more discharge openings in the stern of the ship, a duct passing through the hull in the longitudinal direction, and a turbine pump in this duct. The pump draws in the water entering through the intake openings and feeds it to the discharge openings under pressure. The propulsion arrangement also permits steering by the jets coming out of the discharge nozzles being appropriately controlled. |
