A picture gripper (2) is moved to and fro by a toothed wheel (11) and drives via the driver (11a) a control wheel (6) which is provided with a contact layer (7) and an insulating cutout (7a). Bearing against the contact layer (7) are contact arms (4a and 5a), forming a first contact pair, of a motor protecting switch (circuit-breaker) (3, 4, 5), on which there are integrally formed contact arms (4b and 5b) which form a second contact pair of the motor protection switch (3, 4, 5). A pin (2b) of the picture gripper (2) and a finger (1d) of a releaser (1) act on the contact arm (5b). Upon actuation of the releaser (1), the contact arm (5b) of the second contact pair (4b, 5b) is released to close by the pin (2b) of the travelling picture gripper (2), but continues to be held in the open position by the finger (1d) of the pressed releaser (1). When the releaser (1) is let go, the second contact pair (4b, 5b) is then closed and the motor drive is switched on. The driven control wheel (6) also closes the first contact pair (4a, 5a) via the contact layer (7). Upon moving back, the picture gripper (2, 2b) opens the second contact pair (4b, 5b), and after a revolution of the control wheel (6) the insulating cutout (7a) opens the first contact pair (4a, 5a) and thus the motor protection switch (3, 4, 5), with the result that the motor circuit is interrupted. <IMAGE>
