A resist printing process on polyamide carpets proceeds in such a manner that the resist is applied first, in the presence of alkoxylated fatty amines which have an affinity for anionic dyes with a K'pH6 value of >/= 5, and then the ground is dyed with an anionic dye whose K'pH6 value is >/= 5. Finally, fixation takes place. This gives patterns having soft (delicate) edges.
