The device is in the form of a tube made from a fibre reinforced pliable material, such as latex, with a funnel at its upper end. The funnel is cylindrical at its top and conical at its base. It has a transverse wall across the top pierced by a hole which is coaxial with the tube and having a dia. close to that of the inner tube dia. The transverse wall gives the funnel sufficient rigidity to remain in place without causing pain to the patient, the hole allowing the passage of food through the tube to the stomach. The lower end of the tube is not reinforced in order to given max. suppleness and comfort. Two rings of radioscopically opaque material, one in the transverse wall over the funnel and the other forming a ledge at the lower reinforced end of the tube assist the endoscopic installation of the device. |
