The invention relates to a device for mounting an aiming telescope in an accurate position on the prismatic rail (3) of a rifle with the aid of a sliding securing device which consists of a rotating cam (9) which is supported on the holder (11) of the aiming telescope (12) and can rotate about an axis running transversely with respect to the longitudinal direction of the prismatic rail (3), so that (in the mounting position of the aiming telescope), it can pivot into a transverse groove (8) on the head of the prismatic rail, with a clamping effect. In consequence, reliable locking of the holder (11) of the aiming telescope (12) to the prismatic rail (3) which is constructed as a dovetail guide, is achieved. <IMAGE>
