A device for mounting an electrical installation apparatus (10) on two standard mounting rails (DIN rails, top-hat rails) (which run parallel to one another in an electrical installation distributor and can essentially be constructed as top-hat rails) has a base plate (20) to whose ends bracket elements (38, 40, 42, 44; 30) are attached which can be latched to the standard mounting rails (12, 14) in a sprung manner and on which the installation apparatus (10) can be screwed tight. Each bracket element is preferably constructed as a U-shaped retaining spring (28, 38, 40, 42, 44; 30, 40), at least one of the limbs having a tab (40) which is bent inwards in a convex shape and engages behind a free edge of the standard mounting rail (12, 14). <IMAGE>
