On a demonstration board, having a plate-shaped base part (2, 6), a transparent covering plate (4) and a lighting device (8, 9), the lighting device is arranged on the transparent covering plate in such a manner that it shines only into a partial region of the limiting surface. As a result, presentation between the base part and the transparent covering plate is not affected. However, script applied to the transparent covering plate is made to stand out by switching on the lighting device, and recedes again when the lighting device is switched off. The demonstration board can, for example, be used satisfactorily in education, where comments on the illustrations situated under the covering plate can be applied in an easily removable manner and then caused to stand out as required. <IMAGE>
