摘要 The invention relates to an image intensifier having a vacuum bulb (1) which contains, one behind the other, a photocathode (6) and electron multiplier stage (10) consisting of a plurality of grids which are coated in an insulating manner and are connected one behind the other, and having an output fluorescent screen (8) which is connected to an electrically conducted anode layer (9). It has been found to be unfavourable in such image intensifiers that, even with precise alignment and fixed mounting on the edge, the individual grids (11) can start to oscillate, especially in the case of relatively large surfaces, for example in the case of a shock, resulting in interference in the imaging. To prevent this disadvantage, the invention provides for the grids (11) which are coated (12) in an insulating manner to be arranged in layers directly one on top of the other, so that a compact grid stack is produced as the multiplier (10). An image intensifier equipped according to the invention is especially suitable for use in medical X-ray diagnosis. <IMAGE>
