<p>Process for the injection moulding of shoe soles with raised heels from thermoplastics, esp. expanded thermoplastics, features placing a pre-moulded heel-piece, of the same material as the sole, in the sole mould before filling. At least one sole and one heel-piece are cast simultaneously in each mould. After removal, the heel-piece is used in the moulding of a subsequent sole. In one embodiment the mould consists of a lower block with two sole-shaped cavities symmetrical about the central vertical plane. In the forward part of the block are two heel-shaped cavities. Above these in the upper part of the mould are cavities to allow formation of vertical locating pins on the heel-piece. The soles can be produced as quickly as flat soles because the long coding time needed by a thick one-piece moulding is avoided. The heel-piece strengthens the heel.</p> |
