The roofing tile comprises a rectangular panel, the upper surface of which resembles at least one row of conventional overlapping tiles. The upper face presents a continuous ridge, which extends over the whole length of one longitudinal edge of the panel and a series of mutually spaced ribs perpendicular to the ridge, which extend up to the opposite longitudinal edge of the panel. A horizontal groove extends between the lateral edges of the panel and is situated between the ridge and the ribs. One rib is positioned along each lateral edge of the panel.
