A device for limiting the drilling depth of a drilling machine (1), in particular a percussion drilling machine, has a stop member (11) which can be arranged at least partly parallel to the axis of the drill (5) and has a stop point (16, 16a) for supporting on a body to be drilled. In order to provide a device by means of which a drill hole can be made which is in the shape of a truncated cone at least at its end, the stop member has a passage (15) for the drill and bearing points arranged at its stop point all round the passage at equal radial distances apart.
