In known linkages for regulating an internal-combustion engine, to actuate a switch for controlling the deceleration cut-off the accelerator pedal can be retracted beyond the idling position. There is the risk that, in a deceleration mode, the driver will hold the accelerator pedal in the idling position, so that the deceleration cut-off is not triggered and an unnecessary fuel consumption occurs. As a result of the longitudinally displaceable mounting of a deflecting lever which actuates the switch for controlling the deceleration cut-off, the invention ensures that, on the one hand, when the accelerator pedal is actuated out of the idling end position, first the deceleration cut-off switch and thereafter the control member are actuated, whilst, on the other hand, when the accelerator pedal returns into the idling end position, the return of the control member into the end position and the actuation of the deceleration cut-off switch take place simultaneously.
