Described is a feed attachment (1) on a machine provided with a revolving tool, such as a peeling or straightening machine, for bar-shaped material (8) such as shafts, wire, tubes or the like, with at least one pair of feed rollers (3) which are each arranged at the end of a rotatable bearing shaft (2), the two bearing shafts (2) being orientated parallel to one another and being movable towards one another and away from one another, and the plane set by the axes (11) of the two bearing shafts (2) being at right angles to the material axis, in which feed attachment (1) the feed rollers (3) are designed as roller rings with an outer running surface (7) having a hyperbolic cross-section and are mounted on the end of the bearing shafts (2) in such a way as to be pivotable but fixed in terms of rotation relative to the axes (11) of the bearing shafts (2) in order to absorb the torque exerted on the material (8) by the revolving tool and, after the working of the material (8), to obtain straight, homogenous material, i.e. material which is not plastically deformed. <IMAGE>
