A device for producing a quasi-continuous moulding from wood wastes or other fibrous or granular materials comprises a passage channel (10) formed from press plates (2,3) through which the material to be compression-moulded is pushed by a periodically drivable ram (16) with compression of the material to form a moulded article. In order to avoid congestions within the passage channel (10), the upper mould part (3) is arranged so as to be outwardly displaceable against a spring force.
