摘要 <p>The installation uses a decanter/separator tank with inlet into a decanting compartment in which heavy greases settle out. The remaining effluent overflows into a separating compartment with a take-off below the level of light greases which are trapped by flotation. The sepg. compartment contains an indirect heat exchanger to cool the effluent without resorting to the addition of cold water. Pref. the cooling effect is obtained by pumping cold water through the heat exchanger. Pref. the cold water is refrigerated by the evaporator of a heat pump. Pref. the condenser of the heat pump circuit is used to heat a tank of water, e.g. for washing purposes. In addition to improving sepn. of light greases, the cooling heat exchanger obviates the need to add cold water to comply with discharge temp regulations. This used to increase water usage and vol. of effluent for disposal. The hot water heated by the heat pump can serve the requirement of restaurant and canteen kitchens, hospitals etc. Greasy effluent from the kitchen etc. is passed through the separator where heat is recuperated.</p>
