The conveyor belt according to the invention, of rubber and discontinuous fabric inserts, has on the upper side, transverse channels and, in the central zone, holes through which liquid from the material being transported can drain. A longitudinal trough is arranged in each of the edge zones on the lower side, so that the conveyor belt can be deformed to a box shape. Above each longitudinal trough there is a separate fabric insert, which is arranged in the trough zone in the neutral fibre of the remaining rubber sheet.
