A terminal strip for making electrical contact with a printed-circuit board having a multi-core cable, and a method for its production. It is proposed to construct the terminal strip as follows: a plastic base body consists of a bottom plate (1) and a back plate (2), which give the base body an L-shaped profile. Emerging from the back plate are metallic spring tongues (3) which, together with the two base body plates, form a cavity into which the printed-circuit board can be inserted. The spring tongues (3) are inclined with respect to the base plate, are forked at their ends and are in each case allocated to a cable passage opening (4) in the base body. The terminal strip is preferably an injection-moulded part with the spring tongues injection-moulded in; the base body in this case expediently consists of a thermoplastic, such as ABS (alkyl benzene sulphonate), and spring metal sheets on a bronze or beryllium base are primarily suitable as the spring tongue material. A terminal connector designed in this way is particularly cost-effective and allows a freely selectable allocation between the parts between which contact is to be made. It can be used primarily for the electrical connection of liquid-crystal displays to their drive units.
