<p>The conducting path comprises a linear resistance element (15) to which are attached equidistant metal contact strips (14). 2 sliders (10), joined electrically, are each attached to the body (4) of the cursor through a link (9). Each is held in contact with the strips (14) by a hairpin-shaped spring (7). The width of each slider (10) is less than the spacing between strips and the sliders are displaced vertically w.r.t. each other so that at least one is in contact with a strip. Hence there is continuous contact without the need for a wide contact spanning 2 strips. An alternative to displacing the sliders is to place the contact strips at an angle.</p> |
