<p>A carbon-containing mixture is obtained by collecting a dispersed phase of a mixture aerosol containing elemental carbon and metal oxide or elemental metal obtained by introducing a decomposable carbon compound and a decomposable metal compound into a steam-containing hot gas. This carbon-containing mixture is so uniform and fine in particle size that metal carbides with high quality can be obtained by heat treatment of the mixture.</p> |
