<p>The hydraulic retarder allows controlled lowering of a person in danger, and comprises a rope drum coupled to a feed circulating oil round a closed path, in which an adjustable restrictor is mounted. The feed comprises a pump (10) with a slide (19) forming two chambers, each varying in volume between a maximum and a minimum for each complete revolution of the drum. The chambers are connected together by a passage (26) of variable cross-section, and there is a link (11) coupling the component to the drum, typically via an eccentric on the latter, the pump being of the plunger type, with a fixed cylinder.</p> |
