This cell module for a solid oxide fuel cell comprises: a gas permeable cell base plate (1); either one electrode (2), from among a fuel electrode and an air electrode, formed above the cell base plate; a solid electrolyte (3) formed above the either one electrode; and the other electrode (4) formed above the solid electrolyte. When a fuel gas and an oxidizing agent gas are made to flow in opposite directions, gas permeability at a central portion (1b) of the cell base plate relative to the gas flow direction is lower than the gas permeability at each of an entrance portion (1a) and an exit portion (1c) of the cell base plate. In addition, when the fuel gas and the oxidizing agent gas are made to flow in parallel directions, gas permeability in the exit portion of the cell base plate relative to the gas flow direction is lower than the gas permeability in the portions other than the exit portion of the cell base plate. |
