The invention relates to a synchroniser for a toothed-wheel gear change box of motor vehicles with a detent, a gear change sleeve axially displaceable by a gear change actuation element, in each case one synchronising disc arranged between the detent and the gear for each speed, and with a split, radially resilient wire spring ring which is assigned to each synchronising disc and interacts with a roof-shaped part of the toothing of the gear change sleeve for the limited transmission of an axial actuating force from the gear change sleeve to the synchronising ring. In order to achieve a defined transmission of axial force from the gear change sleeve while retaining a simple arrangement which saves installation space, the wire spring ring (18, 19) is to be designed as a shaped ring which preferably has three circumferential regions projecting radially beyond the root circle of the toothing (13, 15) of the synchronising disc (12, 14) and interacting with the roof-shaped front side (31, 32) of the toothing (17) of the gear change sleeve (5) and also has, on both sides of the said circumferential regions, circumferential regions which rest on the outer circumference of the synchronising disc. <IMAGE>
