In order that the terminating bars holding the net stretched are as fast as possible, the terminating bar according to the invention is distinguished by a flat rail which is approximately C-shaped in profile and into which the end region of the net can be laid and by a sheet-metal strip which covers over the laid-in net and extends with at least one of its longitudinal edge regions into at least one of the undercuts of the flat rail formed by the C-profile shape, thereby clamping in the net laid in between. For shaping of the sheet-metal strip various configurations are possible in order to achieve a high rigidity of the flat terminating bar. Profilings of the sheet-metal strip formed by bending-off and bending-over operations are envisaged in particular for this.
