The invention relates to a clamping rail for attaching printing plates to cylinders of printing machines, consisting of a lower part of the rail, a strip-shaped lid and clamping bolts connecting the lid and the lower part of the rail. The essence of the invention consists in the fact that a pressure strip is provided on the lid which is displaceable in the longitudinal direction, that the clamping bolts are passed through cutouts in the pressure strip and rest with contact faces against counter-faces on a side of the pressure strip facing away from the lower part of the rail, and that at least the contact faces or the counter-faces are constructed as sloping faces. <IMAGE>
