The tubular shaped rotor, which is eccentric with respect to the chamber and the pillar has four radial paddles set at 90 deg. intervals. The rounded ends of the paddles make constant contact with the central pillar and with the inner wall of the cylindrical chamber. - When operated as a pump, the rotor is turned by a shaft, and the paddles move in and out of slots in the rotor as they sweep round the chamber forcing fluid from the input to the output openings. When operated as a motor or a positive displacement flowmeter, the fluid pressure pushes against the paddles, turning the rotor to produce the required motor output or rotary flow indication.(0/3)
