The invention relates to a travelling wave tube having a helical delay line (5), which is accommodated inside a solid, metallic vacuum sleeve (3) of the tube, and a number of dielectric retaining rods (1), which are arranged parallel to one another along generatrices of the line (5) and are fixed in their position in the internal cross-section (4) of the vacuum sleeve (3), and are provided with metallic resonators (6) for selective vibration suppression. It is intended to overcome the risk of RF flashovers between the helix holder and the delay line in such a travelling wave tube, resulting from a multiplier effect. To this end, the invention provides for the resonators which are fitted to the retaining rods (1) and have metallic tips to be immersed in suitable grooves (2) in order to reduce the field strength. A travelling wave tube according to the invention is used as a high-power travelling wave tube. <IMAGE>
