A paper feed device for conveying paper which is provided at least along one side with perforation holes arranged at equal intervals, has a first continuous belt (28) with a number of teeth (28a) on its outer circumferential surface and a toothed part (28b) on its inner surface, a driving gear (24) which meshes with the toothed part (28b) of the continuous belt (28), as a result of which the belt can be moved either forwards or backwards, an end guiding part (27a) which is provided at a given distance from the driving gear (24), the first continuous belt (28) extending between the gearwheel (24) and the end guiding part (27a), and a second, thin-layered continuous belt (29) which is provided around the end guiding part (27a) and is arranged at least partially between the first continuous belt (28) and the end guiding part (27a), as a result of which the friction between the first continuous belt (28) and the end guiding part (27a) can be reduced substantially.
