The pneumatic stowing introduced with the use of hydraulic powered support assemblies is compacted via plates linked to the cap part projecting to the rear and directed towards the stowing. To improve the compaction work as well as to support the cap projecting to the rear into the stowed goaf, a slide movable in the longitudinal direction of the cap (1), via at least one hydraulic cylinder (2), is provided beneath the cap (1) projecting to the rear of a powered support assembly.
