<p>A coating composition which is a paint, varnish, lacquer or like product which has uniformly dispersed therein a mass of abrasive particles such as diamond, cubic boron nitride and boron carbide. The composition is preferably liquid under ambient conditions and contains a thixotropic agent such as colloidal silica. The coating composition may be applied to surfaces such as metal, plaster, wood, stone, paper, leather, a refractory material, plastic, cloth, natural and synthetic rubber and provides that surface with a coating film which adheres strongly to the surface and is abrasion resistant.</p> |
