In a water heater connected to a heat recuperation apparatus, the condenser 8, the compressor 6 and the evaporator 11 form a rigid assembly. At the base of the compressor 6 there is welded a flange 5 which forms part of the rigid assembly and which forms the bottom of the envelope 1 of the water heater to which it is connected so as to be dismantleable. The compressor 6 is within the envelope 1 of the water heater except its base with the terminals 7 and the connection pipes 19 and 20. <IMAGE>
