The drawing element for drawing in a web of material through a rotary printing machine comprises a magnetic slide which can be placed on a guide tube. The guide tube can be pressurised by compressed air, by means of which the counter-magnets arranged in the guide tube can be moved. The guide tube is composed of non-magnetic material, such that there is magnetic coupling between the counter-magnets arranged in said guide tube and the magnetic slide which is placed thereon. The counter-magnets arranged in the guide tube can thus carry along the magnetic slide placed on the outside, as a result of which the web of material, which can itself be attached to the magnetic slide, is drawn along a predetermined drawing-in path into a rotary printing machine or through a folding construction.
