PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication managing device with which the movement of a symbol in the virtual world is interlocked with the movement of a user in the real world in a communication system for enabling the exchange of messages between users who make the symbols participate in the same virtual space by operating and moving the symbol of the user from virtual space to virtual space constructed on a network. SOLUTION: A virtual world managing device 10 manages data specifying the virtual space such as a virtual space name and identification data such as the symbol name of the ID of a user who makes the symbol participate in this virtual space and correspondently manages data specifying a position in the real world and the virtual space corresponding to this position, a position detector 11 detects the position of the user ID in the real world and when the user ID is moved to the other position in the real world, the virtual world managing device 10 moves the symbol of this user ID to the virtual space corresponding to the other position at the move destination.
