The invention relates to a process for extrusion of plastic filled with hollow glass beads, especially for insulation of telecommunications or high frequency cables, the plastic being fed in the form of granules and glass beads to a conveying screw. The object of obtaining at low expense an extrudate filled homogeneously with glass beads is achieved by the use of an extruder screw with a double-flighted feed zone with conveying flights extending parallel on the surface of the spindle, one of the conveying flights being fed the glass beads and the other the plastics granules at the start of the conveying screw, and the parallel conveying flights opening in the region of the conveying screw into a common screw flight, where the plastics material has reached the plastic state.
