Method for fixing an electro-acoustic transducer (1) between a carrier plate (2) and a telephone set housing wall (4) which has sound outlet apertures (3). By means of this method, an electro-acoustic transducer (1) is intended to be disposed in simple fashion, in the correct position and soundproofed, below the housing wall (4) which has the sound outlet apertures (3). For this purpose, a retaining body (5) which surrounds the electro-acoustic transducer is first fixed on the carrier plate (2). Thereafter, the transducer (1) is inserted in the retaining body (5). The housing wall (4) is then connected to the edge area (9) of the retaining body (5) in such a way that the transducer (1) is tightly sealed. A circumferential sealing lip (8) is located on the inner surface of the retaining body (5), while the edge area (9) of the retaining body (5) is of elastic design and lies adjacent to the housing wall (4). The transducer (1) is centred by the sealing lip (8) located on the inner surface of the retaining body (5) and is pressed against the housing wall (4) so that the preceding space between the transducer (1) and the housing wall (4) is kept as small as possible. <IMAGE>
