Retaining bearing bracket in small electrical machine

The steel retaining plate (18) keys into recesses (28) in the end of the body of the machine and is retained by peining of the machine body (3). Previous to this a bearing bracket (16) for the rotor bearing is diecast moulded using e.g. zinc alloy onto the retaining plate is such a way that the mould forms a fixing surface (33) on both sides of the plate over a wide area. Improved adhesion between moulding and plate can be achieved by zinc plating the steel plate before the moulding operation.
