The invention relates to the modular manufacture of walls and pavings in the old-fashioned dry stone style. Each stone or piece of material is solidly held from behind in a cement or binder. The panels are connected together in a jagged line suiting the materials used, this connection system makes it possible to conceal the joints between the panels. The special moulds are designed to be dismantlable, in order to facilitate the removal from the mould, the laying of the stones or materials taking place in the bottom of the mould, contiguously, the mould being laid flat in the horizontal position. The invention makes it possible to use the spoils from quarries or mines; examples of applications include : granite, slate, white stone. <IMAGE>
