PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination device that attains reduction in costs with a diffuser panel omitted, and can illuminate a manuscript loading surface with light uniform and proper in amount of light without causing an image shadows even when reading the image of the manuscript in which a distance between a reading surface and the manuscript loading surface is not uniform over the entire reading surface.SOLUTION: An illumination device 16 comprises a light guide member 22, and the light guide member comprises: a first light guide unit 28 that guides light source light to be emitted in a main scan direction in the main scan direction, and changes a direction toward a direction different from the main scan direction; and a second light guide unit 29 that is extended in an orthogonal direction orthogonal to the main scan direction, has an incidence surface 90 upon which the light from the first light guide unit is incident, and guides the light incident upon the incidence surface and coming from the light guide unit in the orthogonal direction. The second light guide unit comprises a first optical unit 87 and second optical unit 88 that guide light to a manuscript loading surface 38 from one side and the other side with respect to a normal line of the manuscript loading surface, and the first light guide unit and second light guide unit are integrally adapted, and a constriction part 75 with the incidence surface as a cross section is formed between the first light guide part and the second light guide part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
