In a cold strip rolling chain for selectively feeding the rolled strip continuously from a strip accumulator and discontinuously from a strip reel, it is difficult to decide which of the two operating modes should be given priority as regards the design and arrangement of the auxiliary equipment for feeding the rolled strip. The intention is to improve a cold strip chain of this kind in such a way that equally favourable conditions are achieved for the continuous rolling mode as for the discontinuous rolling mode. For this purpose, a guiding apparatus, which is arranged ahead of the coil preparation device and guides the strip coming from the strip accumulator into the coil preparation device, is provided.
