In a tank for a sewage pumping station for accommodating pumps (17), said tank being produced from a building material such as concrete or the like and being of a rotationally symmetrical shape, a central pump chamber (16) is formed by an inner casing (12) which extends cross-sectionally along a continuous line and which, together with the outer casing (11) of the tank, forms an annular collecting chamber (13) for the incoming sewage. This arrangement makes it possible to keep the sewage moving in a constantly circulating manner before pumping out into the collecting chamber (13), with the result that thorough mixing of the individual constituent parts of the sewage is obtained and long-term depositing of solid constituent parts is avoided. <IMAGE>
