Energy supply system, preferably a block heating and power station with a supply unit, especially a generator (2) driven by a combustion engine, especially by an air-cooled combustion engine (1), both machines being arranged in a closed, heat-insulated outer housing (5) and at least one fan being provided for circulation of the air inside the housing, which air inside the housing is fed by way of at least one heat exchanger, preferably admitting water as the heat carrier and air baffle devices being provided. The cylinder area of the internal combustion engine (1) is additionally enclosed by an inner housing (7) and the other areas of the internal combustion engine (1) and the inner housing (7) are enclosed by an outer housing (6). In the inner housing (7) at least one fan (9) is arranged for producing an inner air circuit (10) and in the outer housing (6) at least one fan (13) for producing an outer air circuit (14). In both the inner and outer air circuit at least one heat exchanger (11, 12; 18) admitting air is provided which is connected to a process heat consumer. <IMAGE>
