PURPOSE:To prevent an interphase shortcircuit of an AC power source at commutating time by connecting a capacitor between phases of regenerative current flowing power lines. CONSTITUTION:Capacitors C1, C2, C3 are connected between the phases of regenerative current flowing power lines R, S, T between a regenerative circuit 3a and AC reactors LAR, LAS, and LAT. The capacities of the capacitors C1, C2, C3 are so selected that the stored regenerative currents flowed out from line inductance and AC reactor pass the these condensers at the commutation time. Since no currents flowing thyristors R1, S1, T1, R2, S2, T2 exist at the commutation time, these thyristors immediately become nonconductive state, the thyristors fired in the next cycle is reliably conducted, and the commutating operation is reliably performed. Since interphase shortcircuits do not occur at the commutation time, the distortion of the line voltage decreases. |
