The invention described in a PAL-SECAM identification arrangement for use in a multistandard colour television receiver. The arrangement includes separate PAL and SECAM identification circuits 1 and 2 whose output signals are summed and integrated by an integrator 8. The summed and integrated output signals are compared with reference levels in comparators 9, 10, 11 and 12 to provide output signals indicating reception of correctly phased PAL and SECAM signals and for inverting the phase of commutation of the PAL and SECAM colour decoders.
