A novel phospholipid of the formula:
<Chemistry id="chema01" num="0001"><Image id="ia01" he="29" wi="44" file="IMGA0001.TIF" imgContent="chem" imgFormat="TIFF" inline="no" /></Chemistry>wherein R<Sup>1</Sup> is an alkyl group of 10 to 24 carbon atoms. R<Sup>2</Sup> is a cyclic imide group and A<Sup>+</Sup> is a cyclic ammonio group and a salt thereof have platelet activating factor inhibiting activity and are useful for prevention and treatment of circulatory disorders and allergic bronchial asthma.
