The invention relates to a process for the preparation of a magnesium fertiliser using a mineral acid. It is characterised in that a magnesium silicate, which acts as the starting material, is crushed and subsequently, while in motion, treated with a stoichiometric amount of mineral acid which corresponds to the magnesium content.
