In a measuring-type directional coupler for determining the complex reflection factor of a line terminated by means of a complex impedance, two identical current transformers are arranged separately on the line for obtaining a current-proportional voltage component. The current transformers are in each case connected to earth with one connection and to one of the two measuring voltage connections each, for the forward voltage and the reverse voltage, with the other connection. Amplitude ratio and relative phase angle of the measurement voltages are frequency-independent even at low frequencies in this arrangement.
