Solid fuels are carbonised in the wet state at low temperature and the carbonisation gas is processed as crude gas together with hydrogen sulphide produced from free sulphur and paraffin, and is utilised with recovery of the free sulphur. The remaining carbon is suitable for combustion and gasification, because it is sulphur-free. In gasification, carbon monoxide CO according to the Boudouard equilibrium or water gas CO+H2 are produced selectively. Carbon monoxide CO and water gas CO+H2 are suitable for combustion in gas turbines, if the combustion takes place under pressure and the gas does not contain any extraneous substances. As a result, boiler houses, flue gas desulphurisation, cooling towers and waste heaps become unnecessary. The waste gas is denitrified. Carbon monoxide CO, carbon C and steam H2O are utilised alternately for producing homologous alkanes and alkenes. The inorganic ballast materials are utilised.
